His research covers a broad area of drug discovery from natural sources, modernisation of herbal medicines, and the science of  medicinal foods and nutraceuticals ... More

Dr Habtemariam’s expertise is based on decades of research & consultancy on pharmacological assay development in vitro, in vivo and clinical studies. His work on qualitative and quantitative analysis of medicinal products, separation/isolation of active ingredients, and structural elucidations of natural products have been based on state-of-the-art equipment including HPLC systems, NMR, mass spectrometry, etc... More

Dr Habtemariam is actively engaged  on research and outreach activities on topical issues of the UK higher education system.  This includes critical analysis of institutional culture, quality assurance on teaching & research … policy shift and emerging trends from the global higher education market perspective. Some of the articles and discussion topics are published in the news media as well as his own conversation forum - The  HAS Seminar Series.
