His work on qualitative and quantitative analysis of medicinal products, separation/isolation of active ingredients, and structural elucidations of natural products have been based on state-of-the-art equipment including HPLC systems, NMR, mass spectrometry, etc... Dr Habtemariam is actively engaged  on research and outreach activities on topical issues of the UK higher education system.  This includes critical analysis of institutional culture, quality assurance on teaching & research … policy shift and emerging trends from the global higher education market perspective.
